- Good Python and SnowSQL Knowledge
- Configuring warehouses, databases, and other Snowflake objects to meet specific project or organizational requirements.
- Ensuring optimal configuration settings for performance and cost-efficiency.
- Monitoring the performance of Snowflake environments and executing performance tuning strategies to optimize query execution and resource utilization.
- Analyzing query performance and optimizing SQL queries and warehouse sizes for efficiency.
- Implementing and managing security measures within Snowflake, including data encryption, access controls, and network policies to protect sensitive information.
- Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and organizational data governance policies.
- Managing data storage within Snowflake, including data loading, transformation, and extraction processes.
- Implementing data retention policies and managing data lifecycle within the platform
- Although Snowflake provides automatic backups and failover capabilities, the DBA is responsible for planning and managing disaster recovery strategies and data retention policies.
- Monitoring and optimizing Snowflake credit usage to control costs without compromising performance.
- Advising on cost-effective use of Snowflake features and resources.
- Managing user accounts, roles, and access privileges to ensure secure and appropriate access to the database.
- Providing technical support and training to users on how to effectively use Snowflake features.
